Driving in Germany
Same as in other European countries, drivers need a valid driver's license from their home state or province to drive a rental car in Germany.
Private cars on German roads are not subject to toll charges.
Parking is prohibited within five metres of pedestrian crossings and intersections, 10 metres before traffic lights and within 15 metres of a public vehicle stop.
The maximum speed limit on motorways and dual carriageways is 130 km/h. The speed limit is 100 km/h on other roads.
